Surah Al-Falaq: Light Before Sunrise ...
Surah Al-Falaq is among the greatest chapters for seeking Allah's protection.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) regularly recited it and taught believers to seek refuge in Allah through it.
In only five verses, Allah teaches believers where to turn when confronted by fear, darkness, envy, uncertainty, and harms that may be seen or unseen.
The surah does not deny the existence of danger.
Rather, it teaches us that every danger exists under the authority of Allah, the Lord of the daybreak.
It shifts the believer's focus away from fear of creation and toward trust in the Creator.
Seeking refuge as an act of faith
Allah as the Lord of the daybreak
Navigating darkness and fear
Trusting Allah with hidden harms
Protecting the heart from envy
Developing tawakkul
(reliance upon Allah)
Living under Allah's protection
“Say, ‘I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak.’”
(Quran 113:1)
