zikir and du'aa for protection from all evils ..

The phrase begins the protective Islamic supplication (dua)

 Bismillahillazi la yadurru ma'asmihi syai'un fil-ardhi wala fis-sama'i wahuwas-sami'ul-'alim,

 meaning protection from harm. 

 بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

 Bismillahillazi la yadurru ma'asmihi syai'un fil-ardhi wala fis-sama'i wahuwas-sami'ul-'alim

 "In the Name of Allah with Whose Name there is protection against every kind of harm in the earth or in the heaven, and He is the All-Hearing and the All-Knowing."

Recite three times.

 Every morning and evening.

Benefit: 

It serves as a shield of faith so that nothing will harm the person who reads it.

 أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

 A'udhu bikalimatillahit-taammati min sharri ma khalaq

 I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

When to recite: 

When stopping or resting in a new place, or three times in the evening/morning for general safety.
