DU'A ALLAHUMMA RAHMATAKA ARJU ..

The phrase you shared is part of a powerful and beautiful Dua (supplication) for distress, anxiety, and hardship taught by the Prophet Muhammad pbuh ..

Here is the complete text, translation, and meaning of this supplication:

اللَّهُمَّ رَحْمَتَكَ أَرْجُو فَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

Allahumma rahmataka arju,

fala takilni ila nafsi tarfata 'aynin,

 wa aslih li sha'ni kullahu,

 la ilaha illa anta.

"O Allah, it is Your mercy that I hope for, so do not leave me in charge of my affairs even for a blink of an eye, and rectify for me all of my affairs.

None has the right to be worshipped except You."

"Allahumma rahmataka arju"

(O Allah, it is Your mercy that I hope for):

This is an expression of absolute hope and dependence on Allah’s endless blessings and forgiveness.

"Fala takilni ila nafsi tarfata 'aynin"

(Do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye):

An admission of human weakness.

Relying entirely on our own limited knowledge and abilities can lead to misjudgment and failure.

"Wa aslih li sha'ni kullah"

(And rectify for me all of my affairs):

A plea for Allah to take control and make right every aspect of your life

—including your health, faith, wealth, family, and emotional well-being.

"La ilaha illa ant"

(None has the right to be worshipped except You):

Concluding by affirming the absolute oneness and uniqueness of Allah (Tawhid).

According to the Hadith recorded in Sunan Abi Dawud, the Prophet ﷺ specifically described this as the supplication of the one in distress

 (Du'a al-Makrub).

It is highly recommended to recite this whenever you feel overwhelmed, anxious, broken, or are facing difficult life decisions.

WALLAHU A'LAM ..
