"Bismillah" and "Alhamdulillah" ..

Reciting

"Bismillah" and "Alhamdulillah"

secures divine blessings (barakah), protects against worldly and spiritual harm, and serves as a powerful means of earning endless rewards.

In Islamic tradition, beginning tasks with

 "Bismillah"

(In the name of Allah)

ensures that an action is spiritually complete, while concluding or reflecting with

 "Alhamdulillah"

(All praise is due to Allah)

unlocks multiplication of favors and elevates a believer’s spiritual status.

The Virtues of Saying "Bismillah"

• Ensures Completion and Barakah:

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ stated that any significant work initiated without Bismillah remains incomplete or severed from divine goodness. Reciting it acts as Allah's "seal" on your actions, injecting barakah (blessing and growth) into everyday efforts.

• Divine Protection:

It acts as a shield when entering homes, starting journeys, or engaging in daily routines—protecting individuals from the influence of Shaytan (the devil), theft, and unforeseen calamities.

• Immense Spiritual Rewards:

Traditional accounts highlight heavy spiritual weighting for the phrase. Its 19 letters are associated with absolute protection and abundant forgiveness, with scholars noting that deliberate recitation wipes away sins and elevates a believer's status.

• Aligns Intentions (Niyyah):

It serves as an immediate mental shift, transforming a mundane, worldly act (like eating, studying, or working) into a conscious act of worship.

The Virtues of Saying

 "Alhamdulillah"

• The Ultimate Expression of Gratitude:

According to a Hadith, Alhamdulillah is considered the most superior form of supplication (dua).

It combines Hamd (active praise for Allah's perfection) and Shukr (gratitude for specific favors) into a single statement.

• Guarantees an Increase in Blessings:

As promised in the Qur'an

 (Surah Ibrahim, 14:7),

acknowledging Allah's gifts directly leads to an increase in provisions:

"If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]".

• Outweighs the Worldly Blessings Given:

The Prophet ﷺ taught that when a servant says Alhamdulillah for a worldly blessing, the reward of saying the phrase is greater and more lasting than the physical blessing itself.

• Heavy on the Scales:

Reciting Alhamdulillah independently yields massive spiritual weight. While other essential phrases grant 20 rewards, saying Alhamdulillah from the heart prompts Allah to write down 30 good deeds and erase 30 sins.

Furthermore, those who frequently praise Allah will be among the very first invited to enter Paradise.

WALLAHU A'LAM ..
