is one of the most virtuous and rewarding acts in Islam, praised in numerous authentic (Sahih) hadiths for purifying the heart and elevating a believer's status.

 Hadiths on Zikrullah ..

The Best and Purest Deed:

Narrated by Abu al-Darda' (R.A.) in Sunan al-Tirmidhi, the Prophet (PBUH) described the remembrance of Allah as superior to spending gold in charity or engaging in battle, calling it the purest deed to the King and the highest in rank.

Keeping the Tongue Moist:

As reported by Abdullah ibn Busr (R.A.) in Sunan al-Tirmidhi, when a man asked for a concise practice to hold onto amidst the many laws of Islam, the Prophet (PBUH) advised him to keep his tongue moist with the remembrance of Allah.

Allah's Response to Remembrance:

In a narration from Sahih Muslim by Abu Hurairah (R.A.), the Prophet (PBUH) shared that Allah responds to His servant in kind—remembering him inwardly or in a gathering that is better than the servant's own assembly.

Gardens of Paradise

(Majlis adh-Dhikr):

Abu Hurairah and Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (R.A.) narrated in Sahih Muslim that gatherings for Allah's remembrance are surrounded by angels, enveloped in mercy, and blessed with descending tranquility (Sakinah).

The Living vs. the Dead:

According to Sahih al-Bukhari, the Prophet (PBUH) likened the distinction between the person who remembers Allah and the one who does not to the difference between the living and the dead.

Dhikrullah

(the remembrance of Allah)

is one of the most beloved and rewarding forms of worship in Islam.

Authentic Hadith outline numerous spiritual and practical virtues of keeping the tongue and heart engaged in remembering Allah.

 Hadith and Virtues of Zikrullah

• The Reward of 100 Daily Glorifications:

Reciting specific phrases of tahlil and tahmeed one hundred times a day carries immense rewards, equivalent to freeing slaves, recording numerous good deeds, erasing sins, and providing protection from Satan until the evening

 (Sahih al-Bukhari 3293,

Sahih Muslim 2691).

(For the full wording of the Hadith, please refer to the referenced source).

• The Forerunners

(Al-Mufarridūn):

The Prophet ﷺ identified those who "race ahead" as the men and women who remember Allah frequently

 (Sahih Muslim 2676).

• A Moist Tongue with the Remembrance of Allah:

Keeping one's tongue moist with the remembrance of Allah is highlighted as an action most beloved to Allah upon departing this world

 (Sahih Ibn Hibban 818).

• Divine Reciprocity

 (Allah Remembers You):

Allah states that He is with His servant when they remember Him—remembering them inwardly if they remember Him inwardly, or in a better gathering if mentioned in a group

(Sahih al-Bukhari 7405, Sahih Muslim 2675).

• Protection Against a Hardened Heart:

Excessive speech without remembering Allah causes the heart to harden, distancing a person from Allah

 (Sunan al-Tirmidhi 2411).

 Benefits Summarized from Prophetic Teachings

• Tranquility:

Brings peace and rest to the heart (Surah Ar-Ra'd 13:28).

• Angelic Presence:

Gatherings of Zikr are surrounded by angels, covered in mercy, and enveloped by divine tranquility.
