HADITH SAHIH SUPPLICATION OF YA HAYYU YA QAYYUM ..

The supplication

 "Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum,

Bi-Rahmatika Astagheeth"

is an authentic Prophetic prayer (dua) used to ask Allah for immediate relief during times of hardship, anxiety, or distress.

The Hadith and Arabic Text

• Arabic text:

 [يَا حَىُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ]

• Transliteration:

Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum, Bi-Rahmatika Astagheeth

• Meaning:

 "O Living, O Self-Sustaining (Sustainer of all),

in Your Mercy do I seek relief!"

• Narrator:

Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that whenever a serious matter or distress would trouble the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), he would say these words.

It is recorded in Jami` at-Tirmidhi (3524) and graded as Hasan (sound/good) or Sahih in related chains.

Extended Version

There is also a related narration taught by the Prophet (ﷺ) to his daughter Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) for morning and evening recitation:

• Text:

Ya Hayyu ya Qayyum, bi rahmatika astaghith, aslih li shani kullahu, wa la takilni ila nafsi tarfata 'ayn

• Meaning:

"O Ever-Living, O Self-Sustaining, by Your mercy I seek help; rectify all my affairs, and do not entrust me to myself even for the blink of an eye."

When to Recite It

• During distress:

When facing overwhelming worry, financial trouble, sadness, or crisis.

• Daily routine:

wallahu a'lam ..
